What's the difference between Pick to tote and Pick to Cart and when it will be used.

Hi Siva,

Pick to Cart is mainly used when picking onto trolleys. The wave process performs the allocation, but no task creation is performed.

The first step is for the users to Make the Cart by scanning each Carton Number (oLPN - depending what version of WMOS you use) and assigning that Carton/oLPN a slot number on the Cart. When finished, WMOS will create the Pick Cart task for the Cartons/oLPN's scanned and direct the user to the locations to pick from and direct the user to which carton/oLPN to place the stock - They also need to confirm the slot number.

Pick to Tote - The wave process performs the allocation and the task creation.

The purpose is for multiple cartons to be put on a task, whereby all of the inventory needed for the numerous cartons/oLPN's is picked into a single Tote. The tote is then taken to a packing area where users pack the inventory from the tote into cubed cartons/oLPN's.

Hope that helps a bit.

Thanks

Dan
